Business Battle is commerce based cultural festival organised by PSBB. This event provides learning experience to the students to understand the theories learnt in the class apart from honing their organisational skills. In keeping with the changing times in the society, a lot of emphasis is laid on current affairs. The events based on topics of contemporary interest and practical illustration which enable students enhance their knowledge and widen their vision. The Business Battle gives scope for enhancing CQ (Contemporary Quotient) along with IQ and EQ.CQ is gaining significance in management circles. E-Commerce and M-Commerce come ashore in the cyber wave ; Real business gains priority. The various activities of the two day commerce festival aims at unraveling the business talents of the students - current awareness, analytical skills, advertising acumen, problem solving techniques and marketing strategies. It also gives scope for creativity and to test the students prowess in commercial vocabulary and business knowledge. Business Battle provides the stepping stone to meet the global challenges - a war of words and ideas demanding No Peace treaties but ideal business transactions. This cultural meet provides exposure to facing real life situation in business world like interviews, case studies leading to problem solving techniques and crisis management through co-curricular activities besides enhancing academic excellence with a view to bringing out versatility in students.
Business Battle an annual Commerce Festival, hosted by PSBB, Group of Schools, is a unique one. In this students of Economics and Commerce of various city schools take part. It provides an excellent platform for the students to hone their talents, tap their managerial abilities and channelise their creative energies. The event took place on the 21st and 23rd of August at German Hall, T.Nagar. More than 21 schools took part in the event. The finals comprised a number of 'off-stage and on-stage events' such as "Create Innovate", "Stick Your Bills", "Dreams in Focus", 'Bizarre Bazaar', 'Situations Vacant', 'Vertical Horizons', and 'Case Off Case On'.
Rules for the events were clearly outlined at the very beginning. No vulgarity, contempt or disregard for socio-religious sentiments was entertained. Mr. G.Balasubramaniam, Director - Academics, CBSE delivered the valedictory address. He exhorted more city schools to conduct similar festivals which involve the application of the knowledge gained in the classrooms. He was of the opinion that such festivals enhance and fine tune the students' abilities to go beyond the text and in expanding their horizon.
Kavichakravarthy, Gnana Oli, Dr. V.G.Santhosham, Chairman, VGP Group of Companies, distributed the prizes. He also donated some books for the school library. Dr. (Mrs.) Y.G.Parthasarathy, Dean and Director, PSBB Group of Schools, encouraged the participants to adopt an ethical and dharmic approach in all their business dealings in future and stressed the importance of a value based business ethic.
